Meet Kim Wilson
Meet Kim Wilson
Kim Wilson joined Pishotta Counseling Services as a Marriage & Family Therapist Intern in January 2021. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Business Management at Barat College in 1999. After a few years in the hospitality industry, Kim became a stay-at-home mom of three amazing boys. In 2018, she decided to follow her passion in helping people be the best they can be and enrolled in the Marriage & Family Therapy Master’s Degree program at Capella University. In December 2021, Kim completed her internship and graduated with her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She also obtained a Certification in Play Therapy and a Certificate in Contemporary Theory in Couple and Family Systems while attending Capella, Kim earned several honors, is a member of the Chi Signa Iota Honor Society and the Delta Kappa International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society and is also a lifetime member of the National Society of Leadership.
Kim is committed to assisting each individual as they build on their existing strengths to live their best life possible. Her approach is to meet the clients where they are and help create a safe, nonjudgmental space where they can process and heal. She works with her client(s) to determine the best therapeutic approach. Kim has experience working with play therapy, anxiety, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ Community Members, abuse, trauma, grief, life transitions, family relational problems, BPD, and other life experiences and diagnosis. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families.
As a Certified Play Therapist, Kim offers Play Therapy for children two and up. A child centered directive and nondirective therapeutic approach using Sand Tray Therapy, Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and more.
Kim offers in-person and virtual therapy sessions, and has avaibility for day, evening and weekend sessions.
